What is NRI Family Banking?

NRI Family Banking is a premium offering under the NRI Program: Select Programme, Premium programme and Private Banking are designed for NRI located across the world. It provides:

  • Preferential remittance rates
  • Domestic & international airport lounge access
  • Family banking benefits
  • Exclusive privileges for NRI and resident family members
  • Only Savings Account holders (excluding No Frills, HUF, and Current Accounts) are eligible for Family Banking.

What is the minimum balance required for NRI family Banking?

What are the Charges for non-maintenance of monthly average balance (NMAB)

In case of Family Banking, the customer must collectively maintain 1.5 times of programme eligibility criteria. If family banking threshold criteria are not met, the non-maintenance charges will be applicable to family members who do not maintain individual MAB*.

Can a Resident Indian Apply for NRI Family Banking?

Yes, a resident Indian Savings Account holder can be part of NRI Family Banking. However:

  • The Primary holder should be NRI

Which of my family members can be grouped under the same NRI Family ID?

Family members including parents, spouse, children, grandparents, grand children, in-laws and siblings of the NRI Premium account holder can be linked under the same Family ID.

What are the minimum and maximum number of members who can form a Family ID?

A minimum of 2 and a maximum of 9 members (including the NRI primary holder) of a family can form a Family ID. NRI Premium account holder has to mandatorily be Primary Customer ID holder in the NRI family ID.

Can a new member be added to a NRI Family ID at a later date?

Yes, a new member can be added to the NRI Family ID at a later date. The Family Banking Application Form is to be filled-in and signed by the Primary Customer ID holder i.e NRI Premium customer.

Can members of a Family ID close the Family ID?

No, only Primary customer ID holder ie NRI Premium applicant can close the Family ID relationship with ICICI Bank.
