What is NRI Home Loan Top-up?

NRI Home Loan Top-up allows the NRI to borrow extra funds over the existing mortgage Loan for renovations, education or other personal needs with flexible terms.

Eligibility Criteria 

Non-Resident Indian (NRI) /Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) with an existing ICICI Bank Mortgage Loan can apply, subject to the income of the person and the repayment capacity.

Required Documentation

Following documents are required:-
Valid Passport, Visa/ work permit, overseas or Indian address proof, PAN Card/Form 60 and overseas Bank Statements are needed. For NRIs from some countries, additional documents such as overseas credit report may be requested.

How can an NRI/OCI apply for a Top-up Loan on the existing Home Loan?

Offline Mode:

  • Visit any ICICI Bank Branch in India and apply with required documentation

Online Mode (via Express Home Loan portal- EHL):

  • Visit the Express Home Loan (EHL) portal.
  • Choose between ‘New to Bank’ or ‘Existing Customer’ journey.
  • Fill all the required details, pay processing fees and upload scanned copies of the original KYC and income documents.
  • Submit the application online for further processing.

How much Top-up can I get on my existing Home Loan from ICICI Bank?

The amount of Top-up you can get depends on your existing loan balance, repayment history and property value. You can get over and above the amount that was originally sanctioned based on the Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratio and market valuation, subject to eligibility and ICICI Bank's assessment.

Customers from which countries are required to submit overseas credit report?

An Overseas Credit Report (not older than 45 days) must be submitted for NRI/OCI customers belonging to USA, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, UAE, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Ireland, South Africa, Oman. For other countries, it is not mandatory.
